Abstract
These Regulations lay down general rules for the use of additives in food and for the packing, labelling and sale of such substances. The Regulations apply only to substances listed in the Schedule. Section 4 specifies general requirements of purity and quality of additives and delegates regulation making powers in this respect to the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The same Ministry shall approve additives on the basis of criteria specified in section 6. Section 8 outlines packing and labelling requirements. Section 9 provides for direct sales of additives to consumers. (14 sections)
