Shipping Register Decree.

The Act, the provisions of which this Regulation implements, shall apply only to vessels used for mercantile purposes and which are over 15 meters of length (sect. 1). Fishing vessels which are registered in the fishing vessels register shall however, pursuant to section 8 also be registered in the register established by this Act. Ships shall be given a registration number from which its appears evident that they have been introduced in the Registers held by the Maritime Affairs Agency or the Åland county council, as the case may be, pursuant to the Act (sect. 1). Sections 2 and 3 provide for the introduction of date in the Registers. The Finnish embassies shall send the registration authorities a copy of the interim nationality document released to vessels (sect. 5). The Ministry of Traffic may issue detailed directives relative to the keeping of the Registers (sect. 7). (8 sections)
