Abstract
The scope of the Act is to improve the living standards and the opportunity of earning of persons involved in agriculture or forestry in specific skolt areas in Northern Finland in proximity of the Russian border. Farmers may apply for land or incentives (sect. 5). Provisions of Chapter II deal with the distribution of land and its use. A disposition plan for the land shall be designed by a planning committee, in accordance with section 9 of the Agricultural Units Act (No. 188/77) (sect. 9). Section 10 provides for incentives in the form of loans and grants for acquisition of land and certain farm improvement measures. Section 15 provides for tax exemptions. (23 sections)
