Drainage (Budget Amendment) Act 2018 (Act No. 22 of 2018).

This Act amends the long title of the Principal Act as "An Act to authorise the execution of drainage works and for related matters". This Act deleted some definitions and added the new ones. Therefore, the authorities and duties of the Board and Controlling Authority have been transferred to the Ministry responsible for waterways. The owner of any land shall be notified by the Permanent Secretary. Section 23 of the Principal Act is amended as "The Minister may make regulations to prescribe matters that are required to be permitted by this Act to be prescribed or are necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to this Act and generally for achieving the purposes of this Act . Finally, this Act adds Part 4 to the Principal Act that sets forth provisions on revocation of appointment of members of a drainage board; transfer of assets, interests, rights, privileges, liabilities and obligations; transfer of officers and servants; existing deed, bond, agreement, instrument or arrangement; continuation of proceedings; and transfer of monies in the Drainage Fund to the Consolidated Fund.
