Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2025 (No. 24 of 2025).

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting new definitions of authorised officer, fishing gear, owner, penalty notice, person and vessel, and by amending the definitions of fish, fishing vessel, and taking fish. New Section 6A as regards the appointment of authorised officers is inserted and Section 7 laying down the powers of the authorised officers for search, examination and detention is amended. This Act also amends Section 8 concerning the terms and conditions of suspension or cancellation of licence, and inserts new Sections 8A, 8B and 8C as regards appeals, Inshore Fisheries Fixed Penalty Notice, and proceedings of issuance of a penalty notice. Section 9 on regulations and Section 10 on offences are also amended.
