Maritime (Fiji Small Craft Code) Regulations 2014 (No. 104 of 2014).

These Regulations, made by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport under section 240 of the Maritime Transport Decree 2013, give legal effect to the Fiji Small Craft Code set out in the Schedule. The Code, which shall have force of law in Fiji, details the standards and requirements relating to commercial ships of 15 metres or less in registered length. Prior to proceeding to sea, the master of a ship shall ensure that the intended voyage has been planned using relevant current nautical charts and a current nautical almanac. The voyage plan shall include marine environmental protection requirements that apply, and shall avoid, as far as possible, actions and activities which could cause damage to the marine environment. The Code shall also apply to fishing vessels.
