Abstract
This Act sets out provisions on the offences of cruelty to any domestic or captive animal; court order for destruction of animal; deprival of person convicted of cruelty of ownership of animal; disqualification of persons convicted of cruelty to dogs; compensation for damage done by cruelty to an animal; destruction of injured animals by the veterinary officer, livestock officer, or other authorized persons; power of the veterinary officer, livestock officer, or other authorized persons to provide food for animals in confinement; inspection of places for selling animals; and regulations concerning transport of cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry in terms of animal welfare.
