Animal By-Products (Identification) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 (S.I. No. 2073 of 1997).
Type of law
Regulation
Abstract
These Regulations amend regulation 3 of the Animal By-products (Identification) Regulations 1995. The amendments add to the definition of animal by-product to which the sterilisation and staining requirements of those Regulations apply. The definition now includes carcasses or parts of carcasses derived form bovine animals which are slaughtered for human consumption and were more than two years and six months old at the time of slaughter, but which were not slaughtered under the Beef Assurance Scheme or any other Scheme which provides an exception to the prohibition of sale of meat from older bovine animals.
