Abstract
These Regulations make provision for the sterilisation and staining of animal by-products (as defined in regulation 3) and the control of the movement of such products. They do not apply to entire dead animals, specified green offal of game and by-products for specified purposes (regs. 4 and 5(1)). Immediate sterilisation and staining of by-products, excluded poultry by-products, at the slaughterhouse or game processing facility (reg. 6) or other processing premises is compulsory. Furthermore the Regulations provide for freezing, storage, movement of products and certain requirements in relation with food standards.
