Abstract
This Order revokes and replaces, with amendments, the Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (Wales) Order 2006.
The main amendments to the revoked Order concern: (a) notification of suspected disease resulting from examinations of any mammal or carcase or analyzing a sample taken from any mammal or carcase; (b) application by the National Assembly of selected measures, applicable to suspect and infected premises, to contact premises; (c) derogations from certain measures applicable to laboratories where low pathogenic avian influenza virus is kept; (d) the record-keeping duty on the occupier of premises in relation with trespassers and rights of way; and (e) powers of inspectors appointed by local authorities as well as veterinary inspectors appointed by the National Assembly to serve notices in certain circumstances.
