Abstract
These Regulations: (a) remove two definitions from the principal Regulations which were found to be unnecessary (reg. 3); (b) re-enact provisions in a clarified format for the documents which are required to accompany foods which have been treated with ionising radiation by insertion of new provisions in Schedules 1, 2 and 3 of the principal Regulations and make additional provision in relation to such foods which are not intended for sale to the ultimate consumer or catering establishments with a view to clarifying responsibility for compliance with the documentation requirements (regs. 4, 5, 6 and 7); (c) make four minor amendments to clarify ambiguities in the wording of the principal Regulations.
