Abstract
This Order makes provisions with respect to measures to control of foot-and-mouth disease in Scotland. They carry into effect provisions of the Council Directive 2003/85/EC on Community measures for the control of foot-and-mouth disease except insofar as it deals with vaccination against that disease.
The Order makes provision, among other things, for notification, suspicion and veterinary investigation into the disease and measures applying following confirmation of the disease applying also to edible products such as meat and milk. One of these measures is the declaration of protection and surveillance zones around infected premises.
