Abstract
These Regulations implement for Northern Ireland Council Directive 2001/112/EC relating to fruit juices and certain similar products intended for human consumption. They: (a) prescribe definitions and reserved descriptions for certain designated fruit juice products; (b) prescribe the raw materials, treatment processes and additional ingredients to be used in preparation of designated products; (c) prescribe minimum fruit juice content for products bearing the reserved description "fruit nectar"; (d) restrict the use of reserved descriptions to the designated products to which they relate; (e) prescribe labelling requirements for such products and for designated products; (f) make provision for enforcement and defence: and (g) apply various provisions of the Food Safety (Northern Ireland) 1991.
