Abstract
These Regulations implement for Wales Community legislation on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food but do not apply to materials or articles outside the scope of Regulation 1935/2004. They principally prescribe standards and requirements relative to migration of substances that may be used in articles that come into contact with food, and in particular regenerated cellulose film. The Regulations re-enact provisions of the Materials and Articles in Contact with Food (Wales) Regulations 2005 relating to regenerated cellulose film, with minor amendments to implement Directive 2007/42/EC. They create offences in relation to the sale, import or commercial use of non-compliant regenerated cellulose film.
