Abstract
These Regulations amend the Miscellaneous Food Additives Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 in order to provide for the implementation of Community legislation on food additives other than colours or sweeteners. They also amend the Sweeteners in Food Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 in order to provide for the implementation of Community legislation concerning sweeteners for use in foodstuffs.
Amendments of the Additive Regulations concern definitions, transitional arrangements and (limits of) specific substances. The Sweeteners in Food Regulations are amended by updating references to recently amended EC legislation and adding a substance to Schedule 1, which concerns permitted sweeteners and the foods in or on which they may be used.
