Abstract
These Regulations amend the Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Drinking Water (England) Regulations 2007 so as to provide for the execution and enforcement in relation to England of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 115/2010 laying down the conditions for use of activated alumina for the removal of fluoride from natural mineral waters and spring waters and to implement Article 7.1 to 3 and 6 of Council Directive 98/83/EC relating to the quality of water intended for human consumption. The amendments concern, among other things, definitions, treatment and additions for natural mineral water, the prohibition of bottling of water which has been treated with activated alumina for removal of fluoride if not authorized, enforcement, sampling and monitoring.
