Abstract
These Regulations implement in relation to Wales Community legislation on the exploitation, quality and marketing of natural mineral waters and bottled drinking water. They revoke and re-enact with changes in relation to Wales the Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Drinking Water Regulations 1999.
The Regulations, among other things: (a) prescribe the conditions for recognition of natural mineral water; (b) set out the conditions which must be satisfied for springs to be exploited with a view to marketing water from them as natural mineral water and prohibit exploitation of polluted springs until the cause of the pollution is eradicated; (c) prohibit treatment of natural mineral water other than specified ones; (d) prohibit the bottling of water that doesn t fulfil certain requirements; and (e) prescribe rules relative to marketing and labelling of water to which these Regulations apply.
