Abstract
Regulations made under Part II of the Food Protection Act 1985. They specify new maximum levels of pesticide residues which may be left in crop, food and feeding stuffs ("product" specified in Schedule 2) in accordance with recent Council Directives. They also prescibe how much of a particular product is to be taken into account in determining whether a maximum level has been exceeded. MRL's are specified in Part I of Schedule 2. Regulation 5 prohibits putting into circulation of products named in Part 2 of Schedule 2 which contain a number of milligrammes of the pesticide residue per kilogramme of product greater than the level specified opposite of the name of product in the Schedule. Other regulations provide for seizure or disposal of products and sampling and analysis. (9 regulations and 3 Schedules)
