Abstract
Schedule 1 has been revised in order to implement Community instruments that have come into force since the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) (No. 2) Regulations 2004 were made, including Council Directive 2002/99/EC (laying down the animal health rules governing the production, processing, distribution and introduction of products of animal origin for human consumption). This Directive forms part of a wider programme of simplification of Community legislation in relation to food. It gathers together in one place the animal health requirements contained in a number of other Council Directives.
