Abstract
This Order places restrictions on the use of specified fishing nets and inshore netting in certain areas and prescribes rules relative to percentage of target fish that may be on board of a vessel. The Regulations place restrictions on; trawling or dredging in certain areas; use of beam trawl; use of draw nets; use a beach set net; and inshore netting in certain areas. The Regulations prohibit the use and having on board of passive gear with a mesh size that does not correspond to a category set out in the Schedule. They also prescribe the percentage of target fish that must be on board of vessels fishing with the specified passive gear. “Passive gear” has the same meaning as in the Sea Fisheries (Trawling, Netting and Dredging) (Jersey) Regulations 2001.
