Abstract
This Order, made under the Animal Health Act 1981, introduces tuberculosis disease controls for camelids. Control measures concern, among other things: notification requirements; veterinary inquiry into the presence of the disease; testing of animals; slaughter of deer to prevent spread of tuberculosis; prohibition vaccination and therapeutic treatment; precautions against the spread of infection; identification and movement. It also provides for the ascertainment of market value for deer as specified in article 4(2)(b) of the Tuberculosis (Deer and Camelid) Slaughter and Compensation (England) Order 2014.
