Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2005 (S.I. No. 2745 of 2005).

These Regulations provide rules for the control of the manufacture and placing on the market of veterinary medicinal products and for this purpose provide also for the classification of such products and the authorization of the placing on the market of such products. Veterinary medicinal product as well as the application sphere of these Regulations is defined in regulation 2. The Regulations also identify competent authorities for the implementation of selected EC legislation in the field of animal drugs and feedstuffs. The Regulations prescribe the requirement of an authorization for the manufacturing of veterinary medicinal products. Furthermore, they regulate supply of, trade in and possession of veterinary medicinal products, and introduce new classifications of those products.
