Abstract
These Regulations amend the Waste Management Licensing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 by inserting regulation 11C so as to implement Regulation (EU) No 493/2012 in relation to the methods of calculation of recycling efficiency recycling processes of waste batteries and accumulators. The Department of the Environment must exercise its relevant functions so as to ensure compliance with Article 3 of Regulation (EU) No 493/2012 and for the purposes of Article 3(4) of that Regulation the Department is the competent authority.
