Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (Variation of Schedule 5) (England) Order 2008 (S.I. No. 431 of 2008).

This Order, which applies to England, varies Schedule 5 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which list animals protected under that Act. Two seahorse species are given general protection under section 9 of the Act and the angel shark and the roman snail are given limited protection. The protection of the angel shark does not apply to those territorial waters between 6 and 12 nautical miles from baselines. Limited protection previously assigned to water vole is here replaced by general protection.
