Abstract
These Regulations implement various EC instruments by providing for the recognition of organizations which record the pedigree of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs and setting out the requirements which govern these organizations in relation to the form and content of pedigree records, the form of zootechnical certificates, and methods of recording breeding performance and assessing genetic value for the acceptance of animals for breeding purposes. They also transpose Article 4 of Council Directive 94/28/EC laying down the principles relating to the zootechnical and genealogical conditions applicable to imports from third countries of animals, their semen, ova and embryos.
