Abstract
These Regulations contain rules for the harmonisation of zootechnical standards applicable to breeding animals of the porcine species, pure bred sheep and goats, and breeding animals of the bovine species in the Community. Organizations which establish or maintain a flock book or herd book must fulfil certain criteria in order to be recognised (reg. 3). Animals which are to be entered in a flock book or a herd book must satisfy certain criteria in order to be registered. The zootechnical certificate, to be issued by a recognized organization, must contain certain information. Animals which are registered in a flock book or a herd book must comply with certain performance and genetic value criteria. Criteria of recognition, registration, or performance and genetic value or information of the certificate are specified in Decisions of the Commission or Council of the EC. Animals which satisfy certain criteria must be accepted by recognized organizations for breeding purposes. (5 regulations and 3 Schedules)
