Non-Biodegradable Waste Control (Plastic Bags) Order (SRO. No. 19 of 2018).

For the purposes of the Non-Biodegradable Waste Control Act, No. 9 of 2018, this Order does not include plastic shopping bags to non-biodegradable products. It defines plastic shopping bags as any single-use shopping bag with handles and made of plastic. Section 4 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1 February 2019. Section 5 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1 December 2019. Section 6 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1 February 2020.
