Order No. 1-1/1980 of 2010 of Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia on Privatization of Forests Located within Populated Areas

The Order regulates privatization of forest located on the territory of former collective farming and Soviet farms through a public auction. It consists of six articles: General provisions (1); Organization a public auction (2); Terms for participating in the public auction (3); Commission organizing the public auction (4); Rules for conducting the public auction (5); and Rules for entering into transactions (6). According to the document, the terms of the privatization include using the forest land for its purpose; protection of species included in the Red List of Georgia; and not restricting other persons from using the forest for plant produce, non-timber resources and public water located on the forest area.
