Abstract
The Resolution provides for maximum permitted limits of pesticide residues in food/feed of animal and plant origin. It consists of seven articles: Purpose and scope of application (1); Definition of terms (2); Group of products for which maximum levels of residue must be used (3); Active substances for which maximum levels of residue need not be determined (4); Compliance with maximum levels of residue (5); Requirements imposed on processed and composed food (6); and State control measures (7). The Resolution also includes a very detailed breakdown of the cited foods and permitted residue levels. The purpose of the document is to protect human life and health from risks associated with pesticide residues in food/feed, as well as to protect consumer rights.
