Abstract
The Code is the main act of legislation in the area of product safety and standards. The objectives of the Code are protection of human life, health, property, and the environment; placement of safe products on the market and their free movement; ensuring competition and facilitation in the process of product movement and its placement on the market; ensuring conformity of facilities with increased technical risk through state supervision and control; introduction of an inspection system based on the risk analysis and assessment; development of a technical inspection system for facilities with increased technical risk and creation of a legal basis for the activities of inspection bodies; and introduction of best practices in the areas of standardisation, metrology, accreditation and conformity assessment, as well as harmonisation with EU legislation.
