Abstract
The Resolution adopts the diagnostic manual for avian flu. It consists of 13 chapters: Introduction, purposes and definition of terms (I); Avian flu descriptions with accent on differential diagnosis (II); Requirements when influenza is suspected in bird houses (III); General requirements for collecting and transporting samples (IV); Virus diagnosis and assessment of results (V); Molecular Diagnosis and assessment of results (VI); In vivo pathogen test and assessment of results (VII); Serological diagnosis and assessment of results (VIII); Monitoring system for vaccination (IX); Avian flu diagnosis strategies (X); Diagnosis of avian flu in pigs and other mammals (XI); Minimum safety requirements when transporting samples (XII); and Minimum safety requirements for laboratories working on avian flu diagnosis (XIII). The manual is intended for the National Food Agency of Georgia and the laboratories working on avian influenza.
