Abstract
This Act provides for various matters relating to the protection wildlife. The Minister may appoint honorary game officers. They may carry out functions for purposes of this Act and have powers equal to Game Officers. Section 2 concerns the collection of specimens for scientific purposes. No person shall export any trophy from Ghana unless in possession of a certificate by a Superior police Officer and drafted in accordance with section 4. Section 5 concerns the marking of trophies. Section 6 prohibits hunting by motor-vehicle or aircraft, whereas section 7 prohibits surrounding of animals by fires. Powers of Game Officers to arrest persons without a warrant are described in section 8. Trophies of animals shot by a Game Officer in the execution of his/her duty shall be the property of the Government. Section 11 defines regulation making powers of the President for purposes of administration and this Act. (13 sections completed by 5 Schedules specifying wholly or partially protected fauna)
