Abstract
These Regulations make provision for both foreign and local fishing, fishing in marine and inland waters, restrictions on fishing and conservation of resources, aquaculture and fish processing and trade and specify certain requirements with respect to fish products. The 25 regulations are divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary (I); Foreign Fishing Vessel Licence (II); Local Fishing Vessel Licence (III); Conservation Measures (IV); Aquaculture, Processing and Export of Fish (V); Revocation (VI). Licences for foreign fishing vessels require the appointment of a local representative (reg. 7). Certain fishing restriction and conservation measures apply to the river Gambia (reg. 16).
