Abstract
The law ratifies the Convention on oil pollution preparedness, response and co-operation and all its provisions so as to strengthen collaborative initiatives, in terms of research and technical operations, in order to control environmental pollution by oil and to avoid and better respond to oil pollution incidents. The law is composed by 11 articles as follows: ratification (art. 1); definitions (art. 2); implementation (art. 3); national coordinating authority for the implementation of emergency plans (art. 4); approval and implementation of oil pollution emergency plans (art. 5); inspection of facilities – control certificate (art. 6); extension of application and regulation of minor issues (art. 7); amendments and completions of the Convention – codification (art. 8); sanctions (art. 9); amendments and completions of national provisions (art. 10); entry into force (art. 11). The law, according to article 10, provides for amendments throughout the provisions of Law No. 743/1977.
