Law No. 4203 on Renewable Energy.

This Law, consisting of 28 articles divided into three Chapters, establishes the requirements to be met in order to deal with Renewable Energy. It amends specific legislation, and in particular Law No. 3468/2006 dealing with the installation permit in accordance with conditions related to authorization procedures, operation of power plants from RES, application to hydroelectric plants with capacity of more than 15 MW, including the dam and the artificial lake created for their operation, other works for water storage and installation reservoir pumping systems, as well as connection projects and any accompanying project, etc. By virtue of a decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy, the permitting procedure, including the manner of submission of relevant applications, environmental, town and country planning, as well as any other, shall be determined, by way of derogation from other provisions relating to the development of wind farms necessary details for the installation on land, plots and buildings and the connection to the distribution grid, of small wind turbines with capacity of less than or equal to 60 kW. Chapter B deals with composition and establishment of a Committee for the determination of quarry areas replacing Article 3 of Law No. 1428/1984.
