Law no. 4412 of 2016. Public Works, Supply and Service Contracts (adaptation to Directives 2014/24/EU and 2014/25/EU).

This Law provides the framework for regulating Greek Legislation on public procurement, governing public contracts for works, supplies, and services in sectors such as water, energy, transport, and postal services, and adapting Greek Legislation to European Legislation on the matter. Particularly, the Law concerns planning and awarding public contracts and study competitions under different sections, governance of contracting authorities, and legal protection processes. The Law consists of 374 articles and it is divided into four main Books and parts, titles and sections. Book I covers the general principles and detailed rules for programming and awarding public contracts and study competitions and then it applies broadly to various types of public contracts regardless of value, except when otherwise stipulates. Book II regulates contracts and competitions for entities operating in water, energy, transport, and postal services sectors, with specific procurement procedures. Book III concerns the governance applied by contracting authorities and entities, and thus contains provisions for compliance, transparency, and oversight in procurement activities. Book IV provides for legal protection and remedies during contract award processes, ensuring rights of review and protection against unlawful procurement acts.
