Ministerial Decision no. 1458/143681. Supplementary measures in application of section I of title II and title III of Regulation (EC) no. 1760/2000 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Regulation (EC) no. 1825/2000 of the Commission on the labelling of beef and beef products.

This Ministerial Decision, taking into consideration the provisions of the European and National Legislation on: agricultural and veterinary drugs, food, animal feed and animal health and protection, identification and registration of bovine animals and the labelling of beef and beef products, food information to consumers, concerns mandatory labelling of beef and beef products. The Decision designates the Department of Food Utilisation and Technology of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food as the competent authority in compliance with the European Legislation. The Decision prescribes specific procedures for labelling of cattle carcasses in slaughterhouses, both for animals originating from Greece or from abroad. The Decision provides for sanctions and penalties, and includes two models with the provisions of the mandatory labelling indications.
