Abstract
This Ministerial Decision establishes detailed rules for the application of Articles 5 and 7 of Law No. 4492/2017 on the mandatory labelling of milk and dairy products origin. As defined in paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the Law only if the country of milking and processing, such as any heat treatment or manufacture of cheese and packaging of the finished product is the "Milk Origin: Name of Country". The use of the Greek flag shall be used only in products where the origin of the milk and other dairy ingredients is exclusively of Greek origin and has been awarded the "Hellenic Sign", under Joint Ministerial Decision No. 7838/2014. For PDO products no additional indication of milk origin is given and more specific national and EU provisions apply. The obligation to indicate the origin of milk does not exclude private label products. It excludes, in accordance with Article 7 of the Law, only finished products produced or traded in another EU Member State, or third country marketed in Greece, indicating the country o origin of the finished product, in accordance with Article 60 of Regulation (EU) No. 952/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
