Ministerial Decision No. 2543/103240 establishing additional measures for the application of Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and Regulation No. 889/2008 and No. 1235/2008 on the production, labelling and control of organic plant, animal and aquaculture products and conditions for import of organic products from third countries.

This Decision, consisting of 25 articles divided into seven Parts and four Annexes, establishes additional measures for the application of Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and Regulation No. 889/2008 and No. 1235/2008 on the production, labelling and control of organic plant, animal and aquaculture products and conditions for import of organic products from third countries. The Directorate for Quality, Biological Production and Geographical Indication of the Directorate-General for Sustainable Rural Development of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food is designated as the Competent Authority for carrying out controls in the field of organic production in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007, Regulation No. 889/2008 and the present, and in particular for: a) establishment of the organic production control system pursuant to paragraph 1 of Article 27 of the Regulation Regulation No. 834/2007; b) recommendation to the Minister of Rural Development and Food concerning the assignment to the Auditing and Certification Bodies of Article 5 of controls and certification in the field of organic production, etc.
