Ministerial Decision No. 345331 of 1989. Technical Regulation for the Control and Certification of Vegetable Seeds for Sowing.

This Ministerial Decision, implementing provisions of the Law no. 1564 of 1985 and of the Ministerial Decision no. 320703 of 1987, and in compliance with European Legislation, concerns production, marketing and certification of vegetable seeds. The Decision covers: horticultural plants species; basic seed and certified seed; standard seed; packaged seed. The Decision focuses on: conditions for marketing and certification of seeds; exceptions for trade and certification; conditions for certification of domestically produced fodder seeds; sampling required for seed test; marking and sealing of seed for packaging; distribution of seed and trade restrictions; chemical treatment of basic seeds. Attachments include: conditions for cultivation certification; minimum conditions to be fulfilled by seeds to be placed on the market, including: varietal integrity, protection from pests and insects.
