Ministerial Decision no. ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΚΑΠΑ/52982/1030 of 2026. Approval of an updated National Air Pollution Control Programme, in accordance with article 7 of the joint decision no. 67467/3577/2018 of the Ministers of National Economy and Finance-Infrastructure and Transport-Environment and Energy-Development-Rural Development and Food-Maritime and Island Policy "Reduction of national emissions of certain atmospheric pollutants, amendment of Directive 2003/35/EC and repeal of Directive 2001/81/EC - transposition into national law of Directive (EU) 2016/2284 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EEL 334/1/17.12.2016)" (B' 4740).

This Ministerial Decision approves the updated National Air Pollution Control Programme (NAPCP), in implementation of paragraph 3 of article 7 of the Joint Ministerial Decision no. DNEP/67467/3577 of 2018 concerning reduction of national emissions of certain atmospheric pollutants. The National Air Pollution Control Programme, attached to the text of the Decision, sets the following objectives for the year 2030: reduction of greenhouse gas emissions compared to the levels of previous years; share of contribution of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and bioenergy to gross final energy consumption 43%; improving energy efficiency; drastic and definitive reduction of the share of lignite in electricity generation. Concerning the agricultural sector, the objectives of the Programme are: support the sustainable development of the agricultural and food sectors, by ensuring sustainable agricultural incomes and enhancing competitiveness, as well as by strengthening the socio-economic fabric of rural areas, while contributing to the achievement of environmental and climate objectives, at national and European level. Concerning waste management sector, the Programme focuses on: preparation for reuse and recycling of generated municipal waste at least at a rate of 60% by weight by 2030 and, upon completion of the projects, the reduction of municipal waste. The Programme sets also objectives for the transport sector, particularly strengthening electric vehicles in traffic in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutant emissions.
