Abstract
Article 42 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 establishes that where detailed organic production rules for certain animal species are not laid down, national rules and standards shall apply. Pursuant to this provision, the present Decree establishes, in article 3, detailed national rules and standards for the production of organically-breed hens for egg production. For matters which are not regulated with this Decree, the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007, Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008 and Ministerial Joint Decision No. 245090/2006 shall apply.
