Abstract
In order to ensure that the consumer is adequately protected from exposure to residues in foodstuffs resulting from plant protection products and in compliance with Commission Directive 2005/46/EC, this Decree provides for the following amendments of the current Greek legislation regarding MRLs: 1) Ministerial Decree No. 352654/95 is amended as follows: a) according to article 1 to this Decree, in Annex I, category ‘2. Vegetables, fresh or uncooked, frozen or dry, (iii) Fruiting vegetables, (a) Solanacea’, the entry ‘okra’ is added between the entries ‘aubergine’ and ‘others’; b) the maximum pesticide residue levels for benomyl, carbendazim and thiophanate methyl prescribed in article 4 to this Decree shall replace those in Annex II. 2) Ministerial Joint Decree No. 290341/88 is amended as follows: the maximum pesticide residue levels for benomyl, carbendazim and thiophanate methyl prescribed in article 2 to this Decree shall replace those in Annex II, Part A. 3) Presidential Decree No. 497/89 is amended as follows: the maximum pesticide residue levels for benomyl, carbendazim and thiophanate methyl prescribed in article 3 to this Decree shall replace those in Annex V.
