Abstract
The Decree lays down the necessary complementary measures for the implementation of point 3.7, as amended, in Part B of Annex I of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91, regarding the approval, in exception, of pullet placement in organic egg production unit, which are 18 weeks old and have not been raised organically. The approval for the placement of non-organic pullets must be given in advance from the competent authority and may be granted only if there are no organic pullets available for egg production. The conditions as well as the procedure of the authorization for applying the derogation are prescribed extensively in the Decree. The Department of organic farming under the Ministry of Rural Development and Foodstuffs shall be the competent authority for the approval of the derogation.
