Abstract
This Decree lays down the conditions for applying the derogations provided for in article 5 of Decree No. 678/1982 (as amended by Presidential Decree No. 497/1989) and completes Decree No. 599/1985 (as amended by Presidential Decree No. 43/1988) in accordance with EU Directives regarding trade in animals. Notwithstanding article 6 of Decree No. 497/1989, shall be authorised the trade in animals intended for reproduction and reproductive animals at the end of their reproductive activity which have undergone one of the treatments referred to in article 5 of Decree No. 678, or shall be authorised the affixing of the Community stamp to meat from such animals, provided they comply with the conditions set forth in article 2 to the present Decree. The animals mentioned in article 2 are sent from and to Greece to the territory of another Member State only if they comply with the conditions set forth in article 3 to the present Decree. Pending the decisions provided for in article 2, paragraph 1, the transitional measures prescribed in article 6, shall apply. With article 7 of the present Decree, Chapter VII is added to Annex E of Presidential Decree No. 599/1985. Also, with article 8, Chapter VII of Annex A to Decree No. 599 is hereby amended.

Entry into force notes
The provisions of articles 1 to 6 of the present Decree shall enter into force on 1 January 1989. The provisions of article 7 shall enter into force on 1 September 1989.
