Abstract
Aim of this Decree is to prohibit the use of certain substances (Part A of the Decree) and to adopt measures to monitor and control certain substances and their residues in live animals and animal products (Part B of Decree), in accordance with Council Directive 96/22/EC as amended and in force and with Council Directive 96/23/EC. Possession, use and distribution of the substances referred in Group A of Annex I to this Decree shall be prohibited. It shall also be prohibited the use of products: acting as a deposit; with a withdrawal period of more than 15 days after the end of treatment; whose conditions of use are not known. Therefore, the placing on the market or slaughter for human consumption of farm animals or of aquaculture animals which contain the substances referred to in the Decree, shall be prohibited. The Decree also lays down measures for the monitoring of substances and groups of residues listed in Annex I, Group B. With the present Decree, certain provisions of Presidential Decrees No. 115/1990 and 497/1989 are amended.

Entry into force notes
The Decree shall enter into force as from 1 July 1997, except of the provisions of articles 38 and 39 (sanctions) which shall enter into force on the day of publication in the Official Gazette.
