Abstract
This Decision, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on agriculture, here proclaims the adoption of the Support Programme for intermediaries in the food donation chain and/or food bank (text submitted to the Government of the Republic of Croatia by the Ministry of Agriculture on 1 April 2022). Funds for the implementation of this Programme in the amount specified in point II of this text are provided in the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia for 2022 and projections for 2023 and 2024, within section 060, Chapter 06005 Ministry of Agriculture, capital project K865026 System improvement food donation - NPOO, source of funding 581 Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. Food donation is the giving of food free of charge by donors of food intended for the final recipient of food, while the provision of food without compensation from citizens intended for the final recipient of the food is not considered a food donation. A food donor is a legal or natural person who provides free of charge food intended for the final destination to the recipient of food. A food donation chain intermediary is a legal entity that collects food from donors intended for the final recipient of food. A food bank is an organization that collects food from donors for the final recipient and gives it to an intermediary in the food donation chain. In addition to the above, the food bank can give food from the donor directly to the final recipient. Full text of the Programme is attached to this publication.
