Decree on the use of renewable energy sources and high-efficiency cogeneration.

This Decree prescribes the technical details of the privileged producer status, technical and operating conditions for production plants and/or production units, conditions for the use of the primary energy source in production plants that use renewable energy sources or fossil fuels for high-efficiency cogeneration, high-efficiency conditions for cogeneration plants that use fossil fuels, efficiency conditions and/or conditions for the use of thermal energy for cogeneration plants that use renewable energy sources, conditions for co-combustion of fossil fuels, conditions for co-incineration of waste, among other related issues.
This text further adopts the measures contained in the Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency, amending Directives 2009/125/EC and 2010/30/EU and repealing Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC; Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources; and ensures the implementation of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/996 of 14 June 2022 on rules to verify sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions saving criteria and low indirect land-use change-risk criteria.
