Abstract
This Law amends and re-edits many articles part of the Law on sustainable waste management (originally published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia 94/2013, and already amended in the Gazette 73/2017).
In article 2, new reference documents is added: Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 on the management of waste from extractive industries and amending Directive 2004/35/EC-Statement by the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission; This text also creates the conditions for the application of the Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2006 on shipments of waste and Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/2002 of 10 November 2015 amending Annexes IC and V to Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on shipments of waste.
Other changes are related to the restrictions on landfilling of non-compliant landfills (article 25); obligations of the person managing the landfill (article 26); obligations of local government units (article 28); public service for the collection of mixed and biodegradable municipal waste (articles 30, 32 and 33); separate collection of waste paper, metal, glass, plastic and textiles and large (bulky) municipal waste (article 35); obligations of the waste producer and the waste holder (article 44); waste generation and flow data records (article 45); administrative issues form article 99 are re-edited and expanded; mining industry waste provisions (article 51); waste transport (article 110); energy recovery process for particular waste types (article 115); and various inspection and supervision rules, including offences and penalties.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of articles 76, 78 and 79 that shall start applying form 1 April 2019.
