Abstract
This Law establishes the competent authorities, their actions, related procedure for including genetic resources collections or part of such collection into the Register of genetic resources collections within the European Union; further defining necessary actions aimed for users when submitting due diligence statements, all in relation to the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 511/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on compliance measures for users from the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization in the Union; and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1866 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Regulation (EU) No. 511/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the register of collections, monitoring user compliance and best practices.
Articles 12, 13 and 14 are defining the inspection and supervision rules. Articles 15 and 16 are setting out offences and related penalty provisions.
